TILES

There are two different types of tiles, building tiles and army unit tiles. Terrain will be already printed on the individual hexes of the map. Building tiles can represent many different kinds of structures, and army units represent a group of soldiers of the same race and skill. Tiles are further explained below:

Building Tiles

These are created when you give the “BUILD” command to the appropriate army unit. Buildings remain in the hex there are built in, until they are destroyed by the “DESTROY” action. Some buildings create Resource points, some give bonuses to army units, and some even create army units. See below…..

Armory – every three armories give +1 to defense roll results of army units with armor you control. Maximum bonus you can obtain is +3 (thus nine armories in play). You can have more than nine armories in play, but the bonus stops at +3. You must have an armory in play to create army units with armor.

Brewery – gives +1 to attack roll results of Dwarf army units you control, as long as you have a brewery in play. This bonus does not stack. If you are running a Dwarven army, you may create Dwarven Warriors at a Brewery at the cost of four resource points per unit. Only one unit per turn can be created this way at each Brewery.

Church – gives +1 to attack roll results of Human Religious Fanatics and Human Crusaders you control, as long as you have a church in play. This bonus does not stack. If you are running a Human army, you may create Human Religious Fanatics at a Church at the cost of four resource points per unit. Only one unit per turn can be created this way at each Church.

Farm – produces one resource point a turn. You cannot produce any army units at all if you have no farm tiles in play. All army units can build farm tiles, unless they specifically say otherwise. Each player can have a maximum of thirty farms in play.

Marketplace – produces one resource point a turn. You cannot have more than four marketplaces in play at one time.

Stronghold – this is your capital and you can only have one stronghold in play at a time. For three resource points, you can create one army unit of your choice at the end of your turn. The army unit is placed at the stronghold, and must be of the same race as the rest of your army. Only one army unit of your choice can be created at your stronghold per turn. You must also have the appropriate building in play to create some units.

Stablesyou must have a Stables tile in play to be able to create any kind of cavalry unit. Cavalry units you create can start at your stronghold, or at any stable you have created. You can have a maximum of nine stables in play at one time.

Weaponsmith – every three weaponsmiths give +1 to attack roll results of army units with weapons you control. Maximum bonus you can obtain is +3 (thus nine weaponsmiths in play). You can have more than nine weaponsmiths in play, but the bonus stops at +3.
