Introduction

This game is played on a map divided into hexagonal hexes one inch to 1.5 inches large (measured flat to flat). Four to eight players are ideal. The objective of this game varies depending of the type of game you wish to play. You can play an Economics campaign, or a Conquer campaign. In the economics campaign, the player with the most Resource points at the end of a pre-determined number of game turns wins. Usually this is 10-20 game turns. In the conquer campaign, the player with the most territory hexes (hexes containing a building or army unit you own) at the end of a pre-determined number of game turns wins. Tiles are placed on the hexes to represent army units, buildings, etc.

Each player starts out with a “Stronghold” building tile in a hex that must touch an edge of the map, and be at least five hexes from any other stronghold. Roll 1D20 and highest roll places first. Then the next highest roll places their stronghold and so on. Re-roll ties. After the strongholds are placed, each player then places a “Farm” tile in a hex that is touching their Stronghold.

After this, players decide what type of army they will play. All army units must be of the same race. For instance, if a player wishes to play elves, all his army units must be elves. Two or more players may choose the same race of army. Each player starts with three army unit tiles of his choosing. They must be of the same race as the army of course. No more than two of the three starting army unit tiles can be of the same type. One of these tiles is placed in the hex with the stronghold, one tile is placed in the hex with the farm, and the other is placed in a hex adjacent to either the farm or stronghold. Now you are ready to play.

(Water hexes on the game map are treated as lake hexes, green hexes are grasslands, hexes with trees are forests, and the mountainous hexes are mountains. Eveything else is desert)
